Perfectly Unready for Prime Time
A creative portfolio review

This folio isn’t ready for prime time.
And that’s perfect.
It’s part of the reason why I’m doing this.
I want to help you build the best version of your portfolio possible.
And you have to start somewhere.
There are a lot of quick and easy fixes we can make with this one.
Before we get into the quality of the work and ideas.
But the biggest issue is I can’t tell what this person really wants to do.
Or what I should hire her for.
It’s unclear who they are and what they love to do.
So my number one suggestion is to make it easy for someone who does not know you to put you in a box.
Then, if you need or want to, expand the box.
Do this carefully and in a well-considered manner.
Consider how you might use navigation, sections and sub-sections, color, or even separate websites to keep different disciplines and skills clear to a potential customer.
It’s confusing now because there are way too many things.
- Too many types of work.
- Too many repeated headings.
- Too many fonts.
- And too many spelling errors.
(There was only one that I noticed, but that’s still too many.)
And the very long Canva link is unattractive and unprofessional.
I would start by fixing the easy stuff.
Then figuring out what you want to do and how to communicate that.
And then showing only the best work that proves you can do it.
